Climb Mount Hooiberg
Hooiberg means ‘haystack’ in Dutch. This volcanic formation is 165 meter / 451 feet in height and has stairs all the way up making it very easy to climb.
The best time to go is early in the morning or just before sunset to avoid the heat. From the top, you’ll have a 365 degree view of Aruba. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to climb and there are spots along the way where you can step aside and rest. The stairs are quite steep and might not be suitable for people who have a fear of heights.
There is no parking or entrance fee to climb the mountain. If you are hungry on your way home, Hooiberg is close to Bright Bakery and Huchada, Aruba’s two most well known bakeries.
